Columbia Pacific University is registered as a nonprofit corporation and has recently been awarded federal nonprofit status under Section 501 (c) (3) by an IRS review. See IRS letter of February 10, 2006.

Columbia Pacific University is a distance learning and development community operating currently with an emphasis on our alumni development and our own organization development. The Columbia Pacific University community and its activities are governed by an elected Alumni Board of Governors. Some History
Dec/20/2000 - Alumni began organizing our learning and  development community.

  Mar/01/2001 - Founded our first website and discussion board.

  Apr/01/2001 - Began collecting CPU miscellaneous records

  Nov/01/2003 - Began a long discovery process on legal matters

  Dec/01/2004 - Elected a Board of Governors

  Feb/15/2005 - Incorporated as nonprofit in the State of Delaware

  March/01/2005 - Applied for IRS Federal nonprofit status.

  May/01/2005 - Acquired remaining CPU assets.

  May/22/2005 - Re-launched Columbia Pacific University Press

  July/15/2005 -  Launched the CPU Alumni Blog

  Aug/15/2005 - Acquiring space for our graduate records

  August/15/2005 - Launched new CPU central website

  Feb/10/2006 - Awarded IRS nonprofit status under Section 501 (c) (3) by an IRS review.
